Calling all Filkers!  The Dragon Con Filk Track is compiling a songbook for our track. We’d love to share your songs with others at our Open Filks!  Pro of Fan, it doesn’t matter. We want to sing! To get some idea of what we’re looking for, download the last three years songbooks here.

Guidelines:

  1. There will be no secured portal for the songbook. All songs must be acceptable for a PG-13 audience.
  2. Themes should be related to Science Fiction, Fantasy, Horror, Gaming, or Fandoms.
  3. Both parodies and original music are encouraged.
  4. If your song is a parody, please provide attribution:

   Suggestion: If your song is based on a book, film, movie, game, TV show, convention, fandom, please consider including that in your attribution.
5. If your song is an original composition, please include a lead sheet with chords appropriately spaced. Original songs without lead sheets will not be included. By submitting, you agree that the work is your own. Please do not submit others’ works.

Formatting Guidelines:

All submissions should be sent to:  dconfilk@gmail.com or via the form below.   Please submit as an image file, or in an RTF or TXT file, to be printable on an 8.5 X 11 page. You may also submit as a PDF file if it’s not possible to submit in the previous formats.  Ensure that chord placement is appropriate, regardless of the format you use.

Publication Rights:

  1. This book is FREE. Your works will not be sold in whole or in part by the DragonCon Filk track. You are only giving us permission to publicly share with others. By submitting your composition, you agree that your original work or parody can be published in a book to be made available on the DragonCon Filk Track page at: http://filk.dragoncon.org/  in perpetuity. If you change your mind later, contact us, and we will remove your song within 90 days of receipt of the request.
  2. All copyrights belong to you. We are publishing your work and the online song book with permission under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International license as follows:
If readers desire to make derivative works or use any content for Commercial purposes, they will contact the authors/composers directly for permission or us at: filking@dragoncon.org for referral to the author/composer.
